THE HEART OF HERITAGE

Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Talal bin Badr, Governor of Al-Ahsa, the activities of the first Al-Ahsa Falcon Festival kicked off today, with the participation of elite falcon owners at the level of the Kingdom’s regions, at the site of Jabal Al-Arba, 200 km from Hofuf city in the governorate.

Abdulaziz Al-Mousa, head of the festival’s organizing committee, stressed that the festival, which lasts until February 20, and includes the largest falconry competition at the level of Al-Ahsa, comes within the framework of the keenness of the wise leadership – may God support it – and its efforts to preserve the cultural and civilizational heritage of the Kingdom.

A number of Saudi falconers who won the first track of the festival expressed their happiness at winning the race, pointing out that Al-Ahsa’s mild and distinctive climate and the location of the ancient mountain «Al-Arba» helped the falcons to shine.

Falconer Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Shammari, who won the first place in the Shaheen Chick category of local owners and the Free Gurnas category, said that winning this race was difficult with clear competition, indicating that it is one of the most important runs for him, as he intensified his preparations for the festival, and chose the best and most equipped falcons to participate in the appropriate Al-Ahsa atmosphere for falconry competitions, indicating that participation in the first festival is very important, thanking the organizers of the Al-Ahsa Falconry Festival for showing a capable and professional level.

For his part, falconer Sultan bin Mashhour Al-Otaibi explained that his victory in the Gir Shaheen + Gir Ta’ab (chick) is a successful start for him and the falcons in which he participates, and that he presented a distinctive performance.

For his part, the head of the festival’s media committee, Khalid Al-Qahtani, confirmed the readiness of the festival’s media center for media professionals from different regions of the Kingdom to facilitate their tasks, pointing out that the center has made available since the first day of the festival all media materials, photos and competition results on its platforms, in order to serve the objectives of the festival and activate the media message to market Al-Ahsa as a tourist and heritage attraction with its own specificity, as the committee strengthened its communication with media professionals, content creators and influencers from Al-Ahsa and abroad and invited most media outlets to cover the first falconry festival competitions in Al-Ahsa.
